Annaghdown overcame a spirited second-half Milltown comeback to record their fourth win on the trot in Division 5 of the football league on Friday evening in Fr Conroy Park, Milltown. The visitors led 0-6 to 0-3 approaching half-time when Eoin Curry finished to the net with the points coming from Diarmuid Newell (3), Wesley Fallon (2) and Ian Burke, Wesley Fallon who was causing all kinds of problems for the home full-back line completed the scoring to leave it 1-7 to 0-3 at the break. Milltown in true form stepped it up on the resumption and brought it back to 1-9 to 0-7 midway through the second period with Aidan Burke and Ger Rafftery pointing for Annnaghdown. Eoin Curry with his second goal put some daylight between the sides and further points from Ian Burke, Curry and Wesley Fallon with his fourth of the evening completed the scoring for the men in maroon. Milltown responded with two Antony Coyne frees and had the ball in the Annaghdown net at the death but it was too little too late.
